Sample Letter to the Editor for the Environment Prop. 98 on the June 2008 ballot is one of the worst anti-environment measures in decade. Hidden in the definitions of Prop. 98 are provisions that would invalidate many of California’s programs to protect the environment and our natural resources. These hidden provisions could jeopardize important environmental laws and regulations that protect our coastline, open space, forests, air quality, streams, and guard against climate change and global warming. It’s no wonder that all the leading environmental groups in California oppose this measure, including the California League of Conservation Voters, the Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council and the National Wildlife Federation. If you care about protecting the environment and making our communities nice places to live, you should vote no on Prop. 98. |
